The company specializes in the construction and maintenance of roads, highways, bridges and residential projects. As of August 2024, HIL employs 398 individuals across its various business segments.

Business - Toll Collection Business: HIL operates and manages toll collection systems for highway projects awarded through competitive bidding; The company is one of the few toll operators using ANPR technology for toll collection on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway; Toll collection operations are spread across 11 states and one union territory; The company uses an updated electronic toll collection system using RFID tags and digital payment platform for seamless toll payments; As of August 2024, HIL has 24 tollway collection projects and currently operates 7 tollway collection projects.
