भारतीय मानक ब्यूरो, उपभोक्ता मामले विभाग, उपभोक्ता मामले, खाद्य और सार्वजनिक वितरण मंत्रालय, भारत सरकार के अधीन भारत का राष्ट्रीय मानक निकाय है। यह भारतीय मानक ब्यूरो अधिनियम, 2016 द्वारा स्थापित किया गया है जो 12 अक्टूबर 2017 को लागू हुआ।
The Bureau of Indian Standards is the National Standards Body of India under Department of Consumer affairs, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Government of India. It is established by the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016 which came into effect on 12 October 2017.
बीआईएस का प्रशासनिक नियंत्रण रखने वाले मंत्रालय या विभाग का प्रभारी मंत्री बीआईएस का पदेन अध्यक्ष होता है। बीआईएस में 500 से अधिक वैज्ञानिक अधिकारी प्रमाणन अधिकारी, तकनीकी समितियों के सदस्य सचिव और प्रयोगशाला ओआईसी के रूप में कार्यरत हैं।
The Minister in charge of the Ministry or Department having administrative control of the BIS is the ex-officio President of the BIS. BIS has 500 plus scientific officers working as Certification Officers, Member secretaries of technical committees and lab OIC's.
एक नया भारतीय मानक ब्यूरो (बीआईएस) अधिनियम 2016 जिसे 22 मार्च 2016 को अधिसूचित किया गया था, को 12 अक्टूबर 2017 से लागू किया गया है। यह अधिनियम भारतीय मानक ब्यूरो (बीआईएस) को भारत के राष्ट्रीय मानक निकाय के रूप में स्थापित करता है।
A new Bureau of Indian standards (BIS) Act 2016 which was notified on 22 March 2016, has been brought into force with effect from 12 October 2017. The Act establishes the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) as the National Standards Body of India.
