The National Informatics Centre is an attached office under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology in the Indian government. The NIC provides infrastructure to help support the delivery of government IT services and the delivery of some of the initiatives of Digital India.
राष्ट्रीय सूचना विज्ञान केंद्र की स्थापना 1976 में इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स और सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी मंत्रालय के तहत की गई थी। अपर सचिव स्वर्गीय डॉ. एन शेषगिरी भारत में निकनेट नामक एक नेटवर्क प्रणाली शुरू करने वाले पहले व्यक्ति थे। यह भारत सरकार का प्रौद्योगिकी भागीदार है और 1990 के दशक में भारत सरकार को आईटी को अपनाने में मदद करने के लिए श्रेय दिया जाता है और इसने ई-गवर्नेंस को जनता तक फैलाने में भी मदद की है।
National Informatics Centre was established in 1976 under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology . Additional Secretary Late Dr. N Shesagiri was the first to introduce a network system in India called NICNET. It is the technology partner of the Government of India and is credited for helping the Indian government embrace IT in the 1990s and has also helped disseminate e-governance to the masses.
