जमीन की जरूरत (land needed)
अगर खाली प्लाट या जमीन है तो फार्म लगा ले. जमीन किराए पर लेते हैं. पॉल्ट्री फार्म की शुरुआत करने के लिए जगह का चुनाव जरूरी है. गांव/शहर से दूरी पर ही पोल्ट्री फार्म शुरू करे ताकि मुर्गियों पर प्रदूषण असर न हो और न ही किसी प्रकार की दुर्गन्ध गांव या शहर के रिहायशी इलाके तक पहुंचे. पॉल्ट्री फार्मिंग के लिए जगह का चुनाव करे जहां पानी, साफ हवा-धूप और वाहनों के आने-जाने का अच्छा इंतजाम और जल निकासी का प्रबंधन हो.

एक लेयर पैरेंट बर्थ की कॉस्ट 30 से 35 रुपये है. मुर्गियां के लिए 50 हजार रुपये का बजट रखे. पालने के लिए अलग तरह का खाना खिलाना है और मेडिकेशन पर खर्च करना है. 20 हफ्ते तक मुर्गियों को खिलाने का खर्च होगा 1 से 1.5 लाख रुपये एक लेयर पैरेंट बर्ड एक साल में 300 अंडे देती है. 20 हफ्ते बाद मुर्गियां अंडा देना शुरू है और साल भर अंडे देती है. 20 हफ्तों के बाद खाने पीने पर तकरीबन 3 से 4 लाख खर्च होता है.
