बरसात में हवा में नमी होती है. यह नमी डिब्बों के अंदर जाकर फूड्स की क्वालिटी को खराब करती है. दाल-चावल बरसात की नमी को सोखते हैं जिससे दाल-चावल में गंध आती है. वहीं धनिया और हल्दी जैसे मसाले गीले होकर चिपकते हैं और स्वाद में अंतर पड़ता है.

बरसात में दाल और चावल को सुरक्षित के लिए देसी उपाय का इस्तेमाल कर सकते हैं. दाल-चावल में नीम की सूखी पत्तियां डाल दें. नीम की पत्ती डालने से कीड़े नहीं लगते हैं. इस अलावा डिब्बे में हींग की पोटली बांध रख दें. हींग की पोटली रखने से दाल-चावल में कीड़े नहीं लगेंगे.

बरसात में आटा और मसाले चिपचिपे होते हैं. आटा और मसाला को सेफ के लिए एयरटाइट कंटेनरों में आटा और मसाले को स्टोर करें. अगर डिब्बे का ढक्कन ढीला है तो मसाले और दाल में नमी जा सकती है. आटा और बेसन में तेजपत्ता डालें तेजपत्ता की खुशबू से कीड़े दूर हते हैं.
