The Belgian Shepherd is a medium-sized herding dog breed that originated in Belgium, where it was used for herding sheep. They have become involved in police service and, due to their adaptability, are ideal for a variety of professions and dog sports. While these are purebred dogs, they may end up in shelters or rescue organizations.

Belgian Sheepdogs are alert, loyal, and protective dogs. They are sensitive and loving, making them excellent family companions. They require plenty of activity and mental stimulation to be happy. Boredom in a dog can lead to destructive behavior. They will need plenty of space to run and a secure, enclosed yard, as these puppies have a tendency to chase anything and everything that moves, whether it's a passing cyclist or a stray squirrel.
