The Alaskan Klee Kai is a Spitz-like breed that was developed in the late 20th century into a companion dog similar to the larger Alaskan Husky and Siberian Husky. It is an energetic and intelligent dog whose appearance reflects its Northern European heritage. Bred in three sizes, adults weigh from 5 to 22 pounds, depending on whether they are standard, toy or miniature. They come in four colors: red and white, black and white, gray and white, and all-white. Each color has subdivisions such as wolf gray and silver gray, cinnamon red and dark red, jet black and white, salt and pepper, and black and white.
